What defines Discrimination?

Discrimination is the unfair treatment of a person or a group of people because of who they are or because they have particular qualities. People may have been discriminated against if they have been treated differently than others just because of who they are or because of the particular characteristics they possess in the basis of race, status in the economy, social status, health, sexual orientation, religion, etc.

Discrimination on Farmers

Farmers have remained poor to this day as a result of people who prey on them in order to get wealthy. Some individuals have such bad ideas of farmers that they are considered stereotypes. Filipino farmers are always at a disadvantage in terms of their livelihood or social status in society as a result of these acts. As a result, discrimination against Filipino farmers is most likely to occur.

In the Philippines, in order to feed the people who ignore them, Filipino farmers face "discrimination," being "neglected, abandoned, and forgotten," as well as hazards such as climate change, according to Secretary Francis Pangilinan who is now a senator of the Philippines.

When it comes to wages, the Filipino agricultural laborer gets less than half of the ordinary Filipino. A farm worker produces only one-sixth the value of output produced by an industry worker, to make matters worse. As a result, it's no wonder that the younger generation of millennials has shied away from agriculture, preferring employment and lives that aren't related to farming,

And, as a result of the Filipino farmers' disadvantages in various elements of society, such as financial and social status; discrimination, unfavorable perceptions, and stereotyping of Filipino farmers from those who are unable to comprehend a Filipino farmer's struggles and sacrifices are on the rise.
